Bio

Tanzley Jooste is a Cape Town based dancer and performing artist.

She started her dance training at Dance For All (SA) in the Bridging Programme.

After Graduating from Dance For All (SA), she worked and performed as a dancer and singer for Loukmaan Adams at the Garden Court hotel theatre in fundraising events, as well as performing with Karin Kortjie in Allister Isobel’s “music alla kaap” at the Grand west arena in a performing arts duo called “Lollipops on the move” – now rebranded as Origin on the move.

Tanzley continued her dance training as part of Jazzart dance theater’s 3 year training programme, and now teaches and choreographs. She represented works at the Baxter dance festival in 2015 called “eye to eye” with co-choreographer Darion Adams, and in 2019 she choreographed “There” performed by the Chrysalis/Jazzart dance trainees who she also trained, facilitated and choreographed for – under the mentorship of Ananda Fuchs – as part of an internship-partnership with the Jazzart dance theatre and the Crysalis Academy .

More recently she choreographed for First Step Ballet McGregor at the SAIBC 2021 at the Artscape theatre, and formed part of the ensemble in David Kramer’s musical “Danger in the Dark” 2019/2020 at the Baxter theatre centre with Camillo Lombard as the musical director along side Grant Van Ster and Shaun Oelf (co-founders of “figure of 8 dance collective”) as the choreographers.

Tanzley is one of the co-founders for performance art trio Origin O.T.M with appearances on Emo Adam’s talent show “Maak my famous 2” and the Suidooster fees 2020 “kaapse jol” along side Loukmaan Adams. She taught contemporary dance at First Step Ballet McGregor, and currently teaches at The Hub Dance Studio.
